My love of birth began when I was privileged to attend the birth of my little brother when I was only 5 years old.  Since then, I have birthed 7 children of my own and attended dozens of client's births...and a few farm animals during our family's years in the country!  I personally had one hospital birth, one unplanned home "emergency" birth with an EMT crew, and five births at home with a midwife.

I currently live in Bloomington, IL with my husband and children.  I have one grown & married son, and recently welcomed a grandbaby!!  Most days I can be found homeschooling five who are still at home.  Included in my crew are two on the autism spectrum so homeschool days are sometimes a bit loud & chaotic but always filled with laughter & joy!

I love to garden, lift weights, walk with friends.  I would love to have backyard chickens again some day (they were the hardest thing to leave on the farm).  I love puzzles and table top games around the family dining table.

I have been a Birth Doula for over 20 years with an emphasis on natural childbirth education.  I truly believe that natural childbirth is not something for the extraordinary woman, but something that is normal and possible for most women with the right education, preparation and support.  I would love to serve & support your family as you prepare for this joyful event!
